Sports Canopy The National Tennis Centre

London (GB) 2010

The headquarters of the British LTA in London were opened in 2007.

Soon the capacity of the appending tennis courts was no sufficient for the rising training needs. To have training space even with rain and snow two of the tennis courts have been covered.

A temporary roof was desired which is mounted in autumn and dismantled in spring. It was important for the owners that the open character of the area was kept.

This was reached by an elegant, wide-span membrane covering which consists of five Tensairity Beams with membrane panels in between.
The temporary structure is carried by y-shaped steel pylons.
