Station Canopy Elifelet Station
Tel Aviv (Israel) 2022
Elifelet Station is a new station on the Tel Aviv light rail line not far from the old city of Jaffa. While the platforms are located underground, the ground-level station concourse is open and covered by a large membrane canopy.
The very light-looking structure comprises 38 individual, v-shaped membrane surfaces, which are lined up to create a canopy over the trapeze-shaped floor plan. The area is completely covered, but gaps between the separate v-shaped elements make the roof appear to be even lighter.

The individual surfaces span across the almost 20m width of the station without additional supports and are connected to the outer longitudinal steel beams.
